Zhang Gui Mei, a female teacher in Huaping County, Yunnan Province, encountered poverty-driven school dropout cases among girls during her home visits. Determined to make a difference, she established a tuition-free all-girls high school with the help of various supporters. Despite facing challenges in staffing, enrollment, and funding, Zhang Gui Mei’s unwavering beliefs led the school to overcome obstacles and achieve excellent academic results. With her selfless dedication, she inspired more students to apply. Despite declining health, she persisted in her mission, leaving a lasting impact on mountain education.
